The Noube Production’s feature documentary “Protect, Serve & Care” took home the Emmy for Outstanding Documentary Saturday night at the annual New England Emmy Awards at the Marriott Boston Copley Place.
“I’m humbled and honored to receive this award.” Said Noube Rateau, the Co-Director of the documentary along with his partner William Medero.
“This documentary is timely and objective and I think hit home with people from all walks of life and all sides of this important issue.”
This independent documentary focuses on the relationship between police and minorities in the United States and features a balanced vantage point of police officers, family members of young black men killed by police officers and minorities growing up in the inner city. It beat out three documentaries that aired on PBS stations over the past year.
After winning the award, Rateau dedicated the award to honor the late Police Brockton Chief Robert Hayden and three victims of policing: Kevin Cooper, Amadou Diallo, and Oscar Grant.
“Protect, Serve and Care” is available for streaming on Amazon Prime, NoubeProductions.com, and BestBuy.com. Noube Productions is also fielding offers from broadcast television outlets for wider distribution of this award winning film.
